Beijing sets ‘two flies only’ public toilet guideline
5th of June 2012Authorities in the Chinese capital of Beijing have set new standards for public toilets, including a stipulation they should contain no more than two flies.
Toilets in places such as tourist spots must comply with the new standards. However it is not clear whether failing washrooms will be punished and if so, how.

4th of June 2012This year's ISSA/INTERCLEAN exhibition in Amsterdam has proved to be a real record breaker by attracting more visitors than ever before.
This year's visitor number was 28,001, compared to 23,415 at the last event in 2010. And there were 669 exhibitors this time, compared to 651 two years ago, 25 of them at the show for the first time.

Graduates’ toilet seat cleaner works like a mini car wash
1st of June 2012A team of student researchers from the US have invented a new toilet seat cleaning system for public washrooms.
The system, which requires no chemicals, no rotating seat sleeves and no electric or battery supply, works like a mini carwash according to team leader Nick Bradford.

Rubbermaid rebrands Technical Concepts products
30th of May 2012Rubbermaid Commercial Products is to rebrand all existing Technical Concepts (TC) branded products under the Rubbermaid name. The company acquired TC in 2008.
This means the TC brand will no longer be used in the range of away-from-home washroom products - which includes touch-free dispensers, odour control solutions and refills.
