If you've ever been out and wondered where the nearest toilet is, you may not have to wonder for much longer. A new smartphone app which shows you where the closest lavatory is by using government information has won the top prize in a new competition.

Cleaning systems provider Unger - which has its headquarters in the USA - has appointed Torsten Deutzmann as managing director of its European division.
Based in Germany, Deutzmann - who joined the company in 1995 as a marketing assistant - has performed a variety of roles, most recently general manager.

Robot cleaner a 'game changer' for hospital infection epidemic

A mobile robotic device said to combat germs with blasts of UV light has been developed for use in hospitals.
The Xenex, devised by US epidemiologists, is claimed to disinfect a hospital room in five to 10 minutes. It is used as a follow-up to cleaning teams and focuses on high-touch surfaces such as tray tables, telephones and bedrails.
