Excentr goes badass in its bid to square the circle

The signage is somewhat off-putting. The words Stainless Steel Bastards can be seen in big letters right across Hall 1.

On closer inspection the stand exhorts visitors to "Talk dirty to me".

Commercial director Niek Besuijen explains the company's thinking. "We've been around since 2015 and are up against the more well-established industry giants," he said. "We're a scale-up rather than a start-up, but we needed to get creative with our marketing and be a bit disruptive."

Once visitors move past the signage they discover that Excentr makes heavy-duty stainless steel cleaning machines that strip, clean and polish floors.

"Our models use a square scrub deck rather than a circular one - and this enables them to clean four times faster than traditional machines," says Besuijen. "It also allows them to clean successfully in edges and in corners."

The company is announcing three launches at Interclean: the X2 35cm micro scrubber; the Excentre Rider 65 ride-on scrubber and Clean with Physics, described as water activation technology for professional cleaning.

Other models include the flagship Excentre 55-35 and the Combination Eccentric 43 - both of which are listed in the company's Badass Brochure.
