Cleaning industry bodies launch global AI Readiness Toolkit
2nd of November 2026The European Cleaning and Facility Services Industry (EFCI) has partnered with the World Federation of Building Service Contractors (WFBSC) and the Building Service Contractors Association International (BSCAI) in the US to launch a new global AI Readiness Toolkit to help businesses navigate the opportunities and challenges of artificial intelligence (AI).
The toolkit is said to give businesses a structured approach to assess their AI readiness, establish appropriate policies and governance, and implement AI confidently and responsibly.
"AI adoption will look different from company to company and market to market," said Avril McCarthy, EFCI president. "What contractors share, however, is the need for trusted, practical guidance. This collaboration allows us to combine expertise and perspectives from across the industry to create resources that contractors can adapt to their own organisations."
Developed by CBAi, the toolkit is designed to support companies at different stages of their AI journey, from organisations just beginning to explore AI to those already incorporating AI-powered tools into their operations. Available in six languages, the initial version will include a customisable AI policy template, readiness checklists, a sector-specific prompt library and an AI governance essentials guide.
"Artificial intelligence is changing the way businesses operate around the world, and the contract cleaning industry is no exception," said Stan Doobin, chairman and president of WFBSC. "Our goal is to move beyond simply talking about AI and give contractors practical resources they can put to work in their businesses. By collaborating across organisations and geographies, we can help companies of all sizes approach AI with greater confidence and purpose."
