C.difficile cases surge after NHS relaxes hygiene rules

The number of cases of Clostridium difficile in NHS hospitals has risen following the relaxation of government rules on fighting the infection.

One in three worldwide don’t always wash their hands properly after going to the toilet

A global survey from WIN/Gallup International has revealed 65 per cent of those polled across 64 countries ‘agree' that washing their hands with soap and water is something they automatically do - however 26 per cent somewhat agree, while just under one in 10 (eight per cent) disagree.

Irish cleaners to receive pay increase

About 50,000 workers in Ireland's security and contract cleaning sectors are to receive pay increases under new employment regulation orders.

Under the new measures signed by minister for business and employment Ged Nash, pay for 30,000 contract cleaning personnel will rise to €9.75 per hour.
