Tesco staff asked to take on cleaning duties as cleaning company is axed
5th of August 2020Staff at Tesco, one of the UK's largest supermarkets, will be asked to clean toilets, shelves and floors at 2,000 of its stores after the company cut back on contract cleaning.
Staff at its Metro and Express supermarkets will take over cleaning responsibilities from August 24.

BICSc to recognise cleaning operatives in new awards
31st of July 2020In the UK, the British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICSc) has launched a new awards programme to acknowledge the work of cleaning operatives during the Coronavirus pandemic.
The BICSc Thumbs-Up Awards will be a virtual event on September 24. Five prizes will be given to cleaning operatives who went above and beyond their usual duties.
