Nexaro achieves Trusted IoT Device certification
21st of May 2026The autonomous cleaning robot Nexaro NR 1700 has received TÜV Trusted IoT Device certification from TÜV TRUST IT GmbH, following an independent assessment of its IT security and data protection measures.
The certification reflects the growing importance of cybersecurity in connected cleaning systems as digitisation within the sector increases. According to Nexaro, the audit examined the robot's device architecture, system interfaces and communication processes.
The multi-stage testing procedure included analyses of the system architecture and security configuration, together with operational security testing under practical conditions.
The company says the certification is intended to provide reassurance for commercial users operating in environments such as offices, hotels and public buildings, where connected cleaning systems may process operational and technical data.
Dr Kai Landsecker, head of technology at Nexaro, said IT security had become a "fundamental requirement" for autonomous systems used in professional settings.
The TÜV Trusted IoT Device certification is based on established security standards covering hardware and software architecture, data security and technical data protection. The certification is valid for three years and includes surveillance audits during the second and third years.
