Global-leading food detectives offer more than 1,000 product lines

In amongst the plethora of scrubbing pads, mops and cleaning robots is a stand quietly displaying notebooks, earplugs, pens and cable ties.
The products have been manufactured by Dectamet, the global leader in metal-detectable and X-ray visible products for the food industry.
"Foreign bodies in food production present the greatest risks of recalls," said UK sales team leader Matt Avery.
"Gloves are a particular issue because they are all too easy to tear. And pieces of glove then end up in the food."
Dectamet manufactures more than 1,000 items made from a patented polymer that can be detected with metal detectors. "We offer the largest range of detectable products on the market and operate in five sites around the world," says Avery.
Knives, scissors, hairnets and plasters containing the same detectable additives are also on offer.
All products are food-safe and shatterproof to minimise breakage in the first place. And they come in nine colours to prevent cross-contamination between different production zones.
