UK commercial cleaning company Cleanology has become B Corp certified and has received a Silver Medal from sustainability ratings provider EcoVadis.

B Corp certification, awarded by B Lab, assesses a company's social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability across areas including governance, workers, community, the environment and customers. The certification process requires businesses to provide evidence of their performance and legally embed commitments to purpose alongside profit.

Cleanology chairman and co-founder Dominic Ponniah said: "Achieving B Corp certification is a major milestone for Cleanology and a reflection of our core belief that business can be a force for good. This validation proves that our team's daily work balance's purpose with profit. We are proud to join a global community of leaders who are raising the standard for social and environmental responsibility, and we view this certification not as a finish line, but as a deeper commitment to our ongoing impact."

The company has also achieved an EcoVadis Silver Medal, placing it in the top 15 per cent of companies assessed globally by the sustainability ratings provider. EcoVadis evaluates performance across environment, labour and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.

Cleanology said its sustainability programme includes a commitment to Net Zero by 2035, zero-landfill operations, electric vehicles and reduced use of single-use plastics. It has also introduced organic-cotton uniforms and reusable cleaning cloths.

Ponniah added: "Earning the EcoVadis silver medal is another major achievement for Cleanology, reflecting our deep commitment to embedding ESG metrics into our daily operations."
