The ISSA/INTERCLEAN North America exhibition ad convention takes place in Chicago, USA from October 16-19, centred around the theme 'Reimagine Clean'.

Industry association ISSA's director of industry outreach Dianna Steinbach explained: "ISSA has made a commitment to help its members change the playing field. The only way to break out of the price wars and win against budget cuts is for cleaning professionals to learn how to frame their value and lock in customer loyalty.

"ISSA/INTERCLEAN and the ISSA Convention Seminars have been designed to help them do just that."

Along with the trade show there will be more than 45 educational seminars, workshops, and networking events. Keynote speaker this year is television journalist and author Tom Brokaw, who will offer analysis of the important economic, political, and social issues in the headlines in his address, The Voice of a Generation.

ISSA will also honour outstanding achievement in the cleaning industry though its 2012 awards. The Jack D Ramaley Industry Distinguished Service Award goes to Jim Chittom, who has served in senior positions at ISSA over the years and runs two distribution companies.

This year's Lou Goorland Honorary Membership Award will be presented to Roger Parrott, who has also been a long serving senior member of ISSA.

Gary Gradinger, chairman and ceo of Golden Star, receives the Manufacturer Representatives' Distinguished Service Award.

The YES Industry Special Achievement Award goes to Mark Bevington of machine manufacturer NSS. Finally, recipient of this year's John H Plant Membership Development Award is Günter Glöckner, owner and managing director of Solution Glöckner in Germany.

Glöckner has represented German-speaking countries on the ISSA European Board of Representatives since 2005 and is being honoured for his ongoing efforts in increasing European membership.
