100 Ecolabels for Kimberly-Clark9th of March 2012
The number of products from Kimberly-Clark Professional achieving Ecolabel status has exceeded 100 for the first time. In total 109 hygiene products, including 106 towel and tissue and three skin care products, have been accredited.
A number of criteria were put in place on the company's tissue products in order to reach the standards required. This included no use of chlorine bleach; less than 40 kg of organic water pollution per metric ton of tissue produced; less than 1,500 kg of CO2 from fossil fuels per metric ton of tissue produced; and less than 2,200 kWh of electricity used per metric ton of tissue produced.
