Afidamp brings in new president

Michele Redi has concluded his term as president of Italian cleaning association AfidampFAB, to be succeeded by Matteo Marino. Anna Garbagna reports from Milan.

Continuity and focus on the future: these were the main elements which emerged from the assembly of AfidampFAB associates, which took place in Milan recently.

Michele Redi, the departing president, emphasised the value of the association in this increasingly difficult economic  scenario, caused by the increase in the cost of raw materials, difficulties in payment and the reduction of margins.

Redi then mentioned the ‘green policy,’ supporting companies which have invested in the research and development of environmentally friendly innovative products and solutions. He concluded by giving a preview of Forum Pulire, the first international integrated services congress, highlighting the latest news and its impact on the whole production chain.

'Cleaning – Cleanliness as Absolute Value. Society, Sustainability, Competence, Quality, Health, Economy, Future' is the title of the congress which will gather the entire integrated services sector for the first time in Italy. It will take place in Milan on March 21-22.

Promoting the forum are AfidampFAB and AfidampCOM in collaboration with other associations. Their objective is to organise an important event in order to analyse, compare and share, and to debate the most important topics in order to make all stakeholders aware of the concept of Cleaning as Absolute Value.

The leading companies in manufacturing, distribution and integrated services, after having  addressed directly the market for public bodies as well as private businesses, will evaluate the changes which are needed as well as the solutions offered by the sector's firms.

Michele Redi, after four years as leader of AfidampFAB, concluded his speech by leaving the floor to Matteo Marino who was elected unanimously by the newly elected board of directors - which also chose Gianpaolo Ruffo as vice president vicarious.

Matteo Marino, president of AFED, stressed that Afidamp’s main objective  is to facilitate knowledge and the greater diffusion among public powers, public opinion and clients, of methods and techniques that can provide adequate professional solutions to cleaning, hygiene and environmental sanitisation problems. He also explained the cooperation with ANMDO  (National Association of Doctors and Hospital Managers), following the recent decision to provide references for purchasers in the hospital sector, or to set technical standards concerning sanitisation in the health sector.

Marino continued by mentioning the important commitment of  CPP,  the working group of associations of companies organised to revise a draft law drawn up by the Ministry of the Environment to define the parameters for winning local authority  'green contracts'.

The presentation by Toni D’Andrea, managing director of Afidamp Servizi, focused  on the future and new projects.

Departing president Michele Redi concluded by highlighting the spirit with which the association intends to fulfil the commitments facing it. “The challenges are certainly ambitious, but it has been proved that those who had the courage to invest during the crisis were the winners in the end.”
