ISS divests Nordic washroom business

16th of March 2011

Market leading facility service provider ISS has divested its hygiene and washroom activities in Norway, Sweden and Denmark to Berendsen, which is a European textile service business. The deal is worth just over 40 million euros.

ISS and Berendsen have also entered a strategic partnership under which Berendsen is granted access to ISS’ customer base for its portfolio of washroom products, while ISS will deliver cleaning, catering and other services to all Berendsen sites in the Nordic region.

"ISS already had a strong partnership with Berendsen on mats and laundry, and this agreement is a further strengthening of that partnership," commented Nordic regional ceo Hans John Øiestad.

Services provided by the ISS cleaning business in filling up dispensers, paper towels, etc will continue after the divestment whereas non-strategic logistics and distribution of washroom items in the future will be handled by Berendsen.
