EcocartSafe cleans shopping trolleys3rd of May 2012
According to Izinova, shopping trolleys can be twice as dirty as public washrooms, harbouring bacteria including salmonella and streptococcus - as well as traces of saliva, urine, faeces and blood.
The company is the European distributor for EcocartSafe, a mobile, self-contained system that washes and sterilises shopping trolleys on site. It can wash multiple trolleys automatically - up to 150 of them an hour - without the need for chemicals. Using antimicrobial nano technology, EcocartSafe also consumes little water thanks to its recycling feature.
High pressure and steam are used to clean and disinfect, with the trolleys remaining germ-free for 30 days, says Izinova.
