Armitage Shanks sanitaryware fights infection

Commercial bathroom, sanitaryware and washroom installations provider Armitage Shanks has worked with scientists to develop new solutions designed to help fight infection in hospitals - by reducing the opportunity for bacterial growth in basins, taps and WCs.

The new Markwik 21+ fittings and Contour 21+ clinical ceramics ranges have been developed in response to the evolving threats in hospitals and are launched as the International Scientific Forum on Home Hygiene (IFH) confirms that areas featuring sanitaryware are virulent breeding grounds for bacteria and viruses.

Contour 21+ is a range of ceramics with splash-reducing technology. Research has shown a high level of splashing occurs when taps run into clinical basins, spreading bacteria and viruses which can reach over a metre in distance. SmartGuard antimicrobial additive is an integral part of the products.
Markwik 21+ is a mixer tap developed following extensive research into where and how bacteria grows.
