A new door handle gel dispenser developed in conjunction with healthcare specialists aims to encourage improved hand hygiene. The Pure Hold Hygiene Handle replaces a conventional pull-door handle with a design that automatically dispenses sanitising gel directly into the hand when the user opens the door.

The intelligent gel delivery system ensures just the right amount of gel is dispensed for the size of each hand and that gel is spread onto the hand to avoid it dripping onto the floor. The user grabs the handle to open the door then rubs their hands together in the usual way.

Built on a stainless steel frame, the Hygiene Handle is approved for use on fire doors and has a capacity of 1,300 ml - enough gel for around 1,300 uses. It is designed for minimal maintenance and is constructed in anti-bacterial self-cleaning plastic. Using existing handle fixings it can be installed onto a conventional pull door.
