New products - matting

15th of September 2011

The newest matting systems on the market.

Recycled solution

The latest matting launch from 3M is the Nomad 96 per cent Recycled Entrance Mat, which is designed to withstand up to 500 crossings per day.

Said to be easy to clean with a vacuum, the carpeted surface is spun from 100 per cent post-consumer PET plastic bottles, while the all-rubber backing is recycled from used tyres, preventing landfill waste. The two-layer, heavyweight construction traps dirt and moisture, while the crumb-rubber provides a wear-resistant, non-slip backing.

The new Nomad mat is available in three sizes and two standard colours - green and charcoal.

Clean image

As CWS-boco points out, matting systems stop dirt, moisture and dust from entering a building. They also help to prevent slipping, protect floors and lower cleaning costs - as well as promoting a clean image.

The company says aluminium profile mats make for a professional solution in entrances - both inside and outside. The open construction traps dirt and moisture in the profiles and the mat is not sensitive to fluctuations in weather and temperature. For inside buildings there are standard and logo mats.

CWS offers matting in many different sizes and designs - logo mats can be made to order according to size, colour and shape. There are 99 standard and 600 special colours to choose from. And the full service package takes care of changing and washing too.

Matting advice

Steiner claims to offer a comprehensive line of matting solutions and recommends careful planning as to the positioning of mats around a building.

It says mats should firstly be placed outside in order to create a barrier against heavy soiling such as mud, snow and gravel. The next mats must be inside the entrance in order to remove light soiling and moisture. Then there should be mats placed throughout the building at locations where there is heavy traffic.

The company produces a line of personalised mats with a wide choice of colours and images or logos of almost photographic quality.
