ETS hand drying study

A new study commissioned by the European Tissue Producers (ETS) has focused on the contamination of hand drying equipment and washroom floors. Eurofins-Inlab tested 150 washrooms in Germany, equipped with warm air dryers (50), jet air dryers (50) or paper hand towel dispensers (50).

ETS says that a user of a jet air dryer is likely to be exposed to over 1,000 times more microorganisms than the user of a paper hand towel dispenser. The floors under jet air dryers had on average 20 times greater levels of contamination when compared with the floors under paper hand towel dispensers - according to ETS.
