‘Trap Adviser’ reviews loos in restaurants

An anonymous Instagram user is gaining a following after posting images of washrooms in restaurants on to Instagram.

'Trap Adviser' has attracted nearly 3,000 followers on the popular social media website after reviewing restaurant washrooms and posting comments, both good and bad.

Most of the toilets reviewed are in London, but some appear to have been snapped on holiday. The photographer uses light-hearted puns to comment on the washroom and restaurant facilities together: for example, a spacious toilet in a Covent Garden eating house is captioned: "A room with a loo" while a scruffy toilet at a restaurant in Santiago, Chile, is described as: "Not a tourist trap".

Other washrooms lavatories are described as: "Top of the drops", "bog standard" and a "bit of all white".

Reviewing washrooms has become a new trend as technology evolves to facilitate it. A website named Toilet Inspector encourages web visitors to upload reviews of washrooms in the UK. It also includes a list of the country's five lowest-rated toilets in a bid to name and shame poor service providers.

And the Toilet Finder app allows members of the public to locate toilet facilities around the world via their mobile phones. The app includes more than 120,000 toilet facilities and can even be used via the Apple Watch.
