Spilt cleaning solution forces emergency landing

Two crew members were reportedly left unconscious after a spilt cleaning product forced a flight from London into an emergency landing.

American Airlines said two crew members and one passenger were taken to hospital ‘for evaluation' after the passenger jet, flying from Heathrow to Philadelphia, diverted to Dublin. They were discharged shortly afterwards.

Passengers on board flight 729 reported feeling unwell and suffered burning eyes. The airline said the incident was "due to an odour caused by a spilled cleaning solution in the galley".

The cleaning product was reportedly left inside the plane's toilets at Heathrow and had seeped into the carpeting.
