Pulire Verona reports increase in visitor numbers

Pulire, the Italian professional cleaning exhibition which took place in Verona recently, attracted just over 12,000 visitors according to the organiser. This represents an increase of 18.2 per cent compared to the last show two years ago.

Foreign visitors accounted for 24.7 per cent of this figure, with 74.3 per cent of them coming from the rest of Europe, 16.36 per cent from Asia, 4.48 per cent from the USA, 3.29 per cent from Africa and 1.46 per cent from Australia and the South Pacific.

In terms of sector profile among the visitors, 40.7 per cent of them were distributors, dealers, importers and buying groups. Service companies made up 29.1 per cent, with manufacturers accounting for 18.9 per cent.

Of the 272 exhibitors 73 per cent were Italian, with the remainder coming from 25 different countries including Germany, the Netherlands, France, Turkey, China, Russia, USA, Brazil, Singapore, South Africa, Thailand and India.

"We are particularly proud of this edition of Pulire," said Toni D'Andrea, managing director of organiser Afidamp Servizi.

"In a global time of uncertainty when other trade shows are reporting declines, small or significant it may be, ending this event with an increase in the number of visitors can only make us particularly proud of the work done."

As usual at the exhibition there was the presention of the Innovation Award 2013. The visitors selected Diversey's Taski Quantum system as the overall winner. The technical press jury meanwhile made three awards: Kärcher for its Solar Cleaner RM 99 in the chemicals category; Nilfisk's VL 500 vacuum cleaner in the machines category and SRI for the Pelican Pack in the equipment section.
