Post pandemic recovery sparks demand for workplace cleaning

UK businesses appear to be placing a higher priority on employees' health and wellness in the wake of Covid-19, according to research by facilities management provider Samsic.

And new data reveals there has been an increase of up to 90 per cent in demand for office cleaners across the UK.

Samsic claims to have noted a significant increase in requests for bespoke cleaning services over the past 12 months. These include calls for touchpoint cleaning and swab testing, along with requests for cleaners to be present and visible during office working hours.

Besides a 90 per cent increase in online searches for "office cleaners near me", the study also revealed a 52 per cent rise in searches for "health and wellbeing in the workplace" plus a 50 per cent jump in requests for ‘staff wellbeing ideas". And 90 per cent more people googled "wellness at work" during the past 12 months.

Samsic sales and marketing director Adrian Farrow said: "The pandemic has changed how we work, and most importantly what employees want from their workplace and workspace.

"Customers have been asking for more detailed and robust cleaning services and requesting innovative cleaning solutions, such as non-chemical cleaning products to support an eco-friendly disinfecting strategy.

"It's reassuring to know that businesses in the UK are willingly prioritising their people's health and wellbeing."

Google data also reveals a 52 per cent rise in searches for "commercial office cleaning" plus a 600 per cent increase in searches for "industrial cleaners London".
