Poisonings due to improper alcohol hand gel use increase by 900 per cent

In Spain, there was an increase in accidental poisonings due to improper use of alcohol hand gels of 900 per cent in 2020 compared to 2019. That's according to the National Institute of Toxicology and Forensic Sciences (INTCF), as reported by Empresa & Limpieza.

Of those poisonings over 84 per cent were oral; seven per cent via the eyes; almost three per cent by inhalation and just over two per cent through skin exposure.
