Nilfisk Group, which has its headquarters in Denmark, has announced the acquisition of New Zealand-based specialist in commercial, heavy duty and industrial cleaning equipment Kerrick, which also operates in Australia.

"With Kerrick, Nilfisk's footprint in the Pacific region will increase and strengthen the company's position within the professional cleaning business, in particular high-pressure washers," the company said.

Jonas Persson, president and ceo of Nilfisk Group, commented: "For Nilfisk to acquire Kerrick, which is an established and sizeable supplier of high pressure washers and vacuum cleaners for the professional market in New Zealand and Australia, represents a great opportunity.

"We are constantly looking for opportunities to grow our businesses, through organic growth and through acquisitions. Kerrick's product portfolio is complimentary to ours and this acquisition provides a footprint in especially New Zealand to drive professional sales and service."

Founded in 1937, Kerrick is a family owned company headquartered in Auckland, New Zealand. It has 10 branches across New Zealand and Australia - five in each country.

This expansion follows the acquisition by Nilfisk of Smithson Equipment, a distributor of large cleaning equipment in the Queensland market in May 2015.
