Metsä Tissue ranked best for transparency by WWF

Metsä Tissue has been ranked the best tissue paper producer for public corporate responsibility reporting and environmental management systems in the WWF's second Environmental Paper Company Index.
This rating of paper producers according to their global ecological footprint scrutinises production on key environmental criteria such as fibre sourcing from sustainably managed forests, clean production and public reporting.
Metsä Tissue achieved a score of 86 per cent of the maximum score in the category Corporate Responsibility reporting and Environmental Management Systems. The second best tissue producer scored 78 per cent.
The three best overall scores in the tissue category, all within a margin of less than one per cent of each other, went to SCA Tissue, Metsä Tissue and Sofidel in that order.
"This excellent ranking is rewarding and highly motivating for the entire Metsä Tissue community, as a lot of attention and work has been put into improving our transparency and environmental performance," commented Mika Joukio, ceo of Metsä Tissue.
