EFCI launches second chapter of ‘In Good Hands’/’Helping Europe Reopen’ campaign

EFCI, the organisation representing the cleaning and facilities service industry at pan-European level, has launched the second phase of its #InGoodHands campaign. Over the next two weeks this will highlight the cleaning industry's key role and voice its specific needs to support Europe's economic and social recovery.

The second phase of the campaign, with its dual motto ‘In Good Hands’/’Helping Europe Reopen’, intends to raise awareness among European and national policymakers of the active and targeted support that professional cleaning companies need to continue performing their essential role.

Cleaning, hygiene, disinfection and sanitisation are placed at the very centre of the pathway to the ‘new normal’ - first in the Joint European Roadmap towards lifting COVID-19 containment measures, then in the European Tourism and Transport package. EFCI says the industry is ready to take on this essential role, however it needs continued and targeted support.

In early May EFCI members estimated companies have lost on average 50 per cent of their turnover during lockdown. In the long run, most companies might experience serious obstacles to their business continuity if not adequately supported with:

• Access to liquidity
• Tax concessions
• Continuity of funding for national flexible unemployment schemes.

For the next two weeks EFCI and its member associations will campaign with #InGoodHands and #HelpingEuropeReopen
