EFCI celebrates 30th year with a new image

The EFCI, the organisation representing the cleaning and facility services sector at EU level, celebrated its 30th birthday near its headquarters in Brussels last week.
The celebration coincided with the unveiling of a new identity and a new name by president Yvan Fieremans and director Isabel Yglesias. EFCI's full name is now the European Cleaning and Facility Services Industry.
Established in 1988 EFCI brings together national professional organisations coming from 15 EU member states - representing 240,000 contractors employing over 3.6 million people.
The Brussels event was attended by members’ representatives, officials from the European institutions and representatives from industrial associations. Yvan Fieremans commented: "While cleaning is the core of our business and historical roots, the EFCI needs to follow the evolution of the market and be ready for the future of the industry."
Isabel Yglesias added: “We want to mark the 30th anniversary of the Federation but also make a strong point for the future: today we launch our new image, that comes with our new offices in the European quarter and with a new strategy”.
EU commissioner Marianne Thyssen congratulated the EFCI and emphasised that “like other sectors, yours is not immune to change. In particular, the challenges of ageing, digitalisation and new forms of work. So the second reason to celebrate is that you are prepared to tackle these challenges with confidence".
