Chicago success for ISSA/INTERCLEAN North America

This year's ISSA/INTERCLEAN North America exhibition took place in Chicago recently, attracting more than 9,000 visitors from 65 countries outside the USA.

Just over 620 manufacturers exhibited, 95 of them new to the show - and they came from 29 different countries.

Taking place alongside ISSA/INTERCLEAN was the usual comprehensive seminar programme - and the Building Service Contractor Association International (BSCAI), facility management association IEHA and the Association of Residential Cleaning Services International (ARCSI) all co-located their annual conventions there.

"Our keynoter, Tom Brokaw, summed it up quite well when he said that we are all looking for a ‘big idea' to unite us these days," said John Garfinkel, ISSA executive director.

"We believe that the shared drive to prove cleaning is a long-term investment in human health, the environment, and facilities' bottom lines is what continues to bring together so many leaders in our industry to meet face-to-face and find the right solutions."

The show was also the platform for the presentation of this year's 2012 ISSA Innovation Awards. The contest, which was conducted electronically, received more than 85,000 page views during the three months voting was open. In addition, show exhibition attendees were able to view and vote for the products in person.

In the Cleaning Agents category the winner was Clorox Professional Products for Clorox Hydrogen Peroxide Disinfecting Cleaners. Kimberly-Clark Professional won the Disposables Category for the MOD dispensing system. In Equipment the Super Coach Pro from ProTeam was declared the winner, while in Services & Technology CleanTelligent won for CleanTelligent Inspector. Finally, Unger won the Supplies section for its HiFlo nLite.
