German cleaning organisation cautious for 2014 prospects20th of March 2014
VDMA, the German trade association representing cleaning machine manufacturers, has issued cautious predictions for 2014. It forecasts the German market will grow by between one and three per cent this year, following a rise of just 0.6 per cent last year to a turnover of 925 million euros.
However this latest prediction is still subject to great uncertainty, said chairman Markus Asch. "We view with considerable concern the devaluation of currencies in the important future markets of, for example, Brazil, Japan and India."
German manufacturers represent a world market share of 20 per cent and a market share in Europe of around 50 per cent.
