Sodexo employees on month-long health drive
5th of November 2015Facility services provider Sodexo has been holding its own month-long Wellbeing Challenge at its operation in the UK and Ireland.
The initiative, open to its 34,000 employees, was run through the Wellbeing Zone, Sodexo's new website and smartphone app that allows employees to track their diet and physical activity and follow personalised fitness programmes.
The challenge ran during October and focused on one theme each week: nutrition, fitness, sleep and mental wellbeing. Employees were urged to design challenges to suit their specific health and wellbeing needs, for example eating five-a-day or walking 10,000 steps a day.
The Wellbeing Zone features advice and information about everyday health issues and fitness masterclasses from Sodexo's health ambassador and former England rugby star, Matt Dawson.
Andy Rogers, Sodexo UK and Ireland's HR director said: "We are committed to improving our employees' quality of life and promoting a healthier workforce is a key component of that. The Wellbeing Zone is a great practical tool for employees and encourages our workforce to take simple steps towards better health."
