Irish cleaning association focuses on AI opportunities

The Irish Contract Cleaning Association (ICCA) has signalled a major shift in the industry with its recent industry briefing on Artificial Intelligence (AI) from Mark Kelly, founder of AI Ireland - a company that advances AI adoption and expertise across Irish businesses and professionals.

His presentation, says ICCA, demonstrated AI is no longer an emerging concept but an accessible operational tool capable of transforming productivity, workforce management and customer service.

A sector-wide survey conducted by the association shows strong interest but low readiness. Despite this, operators are clear on the opportunity, with growing adoption of rostering systems, digital SLAs and early-stage robotics.

Kelly highlighted falling AI costs, down more than 97 per cent in three years, making enterprise-level tools viable for all cleaning firms, no matter what their size. He urged companies to prioritise data quality, workflow mapping and staff training as foundations for automation.

ICCA is now urging service providers to be at the forefront of modernising their digital and operational infrastructure.
