Interclean hosts its first ever Dragon’s Den style event

It was only a matter of time. Reality TV is becoming so big that it is no surprise that a version of a hugely popular show is coming to Interclean.

A Dragon's Den style event will be held on Wednesday afternoon with eight start-up cleaning companies pitching for financial backing from investors.

"The aim is to inspire innovation," said Dirk Tuip, event organiser and CEO of software company FacilityApps. "It is a non-profit event and this will be the first time it has been run. We're hoping to take the format to other shows such as CMS Berlin and The Cleaning Show in the UK later on."

The eight companies pitching for funds will include three offering sustainable solutions and five that have devised software innovations, said Tuip.

"By showcasing cutting-edge innovations and digital solutions, these start-ups will not only address industry challenges but will also make the cleaning sector more attractive to investors and software companies," he said.

The event is being run by Interclean 2024 in collaboration with Facility Data Standard, of which Dirk Tuip is a member.

Interclean 2024 is poised to be a transformative event, says director Robert Stelling. "We believe that by fostering innovation, attracting new talent and making the industry more appealing to investors and software companies we can drive meaningful change," he said.

The event will take place from 2pm to 3.30pm on the Data and Technology stage in Hall Five. Everyone is invited to attend.
