Paper most hygienic?
6th of December 2013According to the European Tissue Symposium (ETS), paper towels are the most hygienic way of
drying hands. ETS represents the European tissue industry and points out that a number
of independent studies have confirmed this.
Its chairman Roberto Berardi said: “Paper is the most hygienic way of drying hands compared
to air or cloth. With each new study, we find additional evidence of this scientific fact.”
He pointed to studies by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the flagship
journal of the Mayo Clinic in the USA.
“It is important that all who are responsible for hygiene know the use of single use paper towels is the best solution to prevent the spread of microbes in care sensitive environments,” Berardi concluded.
