the protective biofilm layer is resistant to traditional cleaning and disinfection methods it says.

Therefore the company developed the patented Biofilm Detection Kit that can differentiate the biofilm’s organic matrix from other organic matter that might be present on the surface. The biofilm is instantly stained.

Realco has also developed some cleaning solutions for tackling biofilm, as they are resistant to traditional methods. Biorem and Detoxzym are enzyme-based solutions whose action targets the organic polymers that make up biofilms.
