Ophardt system monitors hand hygiene
9th of March 2012Hand hygiene compliance in healthcare establishments can be monitored using the Ophardt Hygiene Monitoring System (HMS), a hand sanitiser dispenser that records every operation and measures the amount of disinfectant used.
Each hand hygiene event is measured without recording individuals' identities. The data is then transmitted securely via a WiFi network to a central server, called Ophardt HMS Weco. There is a counter only version whereby the usage data is entered manually.
The user can then decide which times or locations they would like to analyse and review on the system. In this way compliance in different sections or wards can be closely monitored, and training then offered in areas that need to be improved.
