June 15 marks International Justice Day for Cleaners and Security Guards
10th of June 2015The UNI global trade union is calling on cleaners and security workers to organise events on Monday June 15 to mark International Justice Day for Cleaners and Security Guards.
That date marks the 25th anniversary of the day in Los Angeles when cleaners and their supporters demanding justice and respect were attacked by police.
The theme for this year's event is 'Working Hours, Respect, Workload' and trade unions around the world are invited to organise action in high-traffic, high profile areas where cleaners and security guards can interact with the public and give out leaflets, etc. Suggested venues include airports, financial districts, government buildings, pubic transport hubs, and at the premises of irresponsible clients/companies.
