ISS France awarded Trophy of Employment
17th of April 2014The French Unemployment Office has rewarded ISS for its recruitment policy with disabled workers, with a Trophy of Employment. This recognises the initiatives taken during a disability forum held in Lyon, a recruitment drive resulting in the selection of 30 disabled candidates.
In September 2013, job coordinator at ISS France Erwan Plouhinec organised a disability forum day at the Lyon Unemployment Office, in order to increase job opportunities for disabled workers in those areas.
Olivier Schneider, who is responsible for social integration at the ISS France office in Paris, explained: "This is the first time we have organised this kind of event in partnership with the Unemployment Office. The result is way beyond our expectations. We were expecting about 40 potential candidates and about 90 people turned up throughout the day for meetings and interviews." There were 30 successful candidates.
The initiative will now be rolled out in other regions of France.
