CMS cleaning exhibition opens in Berlin

The 2103 CMS cleaning exhibition opened in Berlin yesterday, with organisers expecting more than 15,000 visitors from 60 countries.

The event, which runs until Friday, is organised by Messe Berlin, in cooperation with industry organisations the Federal Cleaning Trades Association (BIV), the VDMA Cleaning Systems Trade Association and the Industrial Association for Hygiene and Surface Protection (IHO).

Dieter Kuhnert, head of the boardof BIV said at the opening: "“With this year’s fair the Federal Cleaning Trades Association is making every effort to continue the major successes of the last CMS, especially with regard to its growing international dimension."

“CMS is the most important trade fair for the cleaning sector in Europe in 2013," said Markus Asch, chairman of VDMA. "The fair is very effective at linking together all those involved in the subject of cleaning. Such interconnection and communication is vital for the long- term success of the entire market."

And the IHO's Frank Vancraeyveld added: "We need a trade show such as CMS as a means of demonstrating the mood in the industry and the state of the economy, and also as a catalyst, as a trendsetter, and to define the important themes of the moment."

Today sees the opening of the first CMS International Congress, which will be opened by Daniel Calleja Crespo, Spanish director general of the European Union.
