ISS delivers highest growth rate in more than 10 years
16th of March 2012Denmark-based global building services company ISS has delivered its highest organic growth in more than a decade, according to its results for 2011 just published.
Organic growth last year was 6.2 per cent, the third consecutive annual rise, with North America, Asia and Latin America all experiencing double digit growth rates. The operating profit of just over 590 million euros is the highest ever reported by ISS - a percentage rate of 5.7 per cent.
The operating margin in 2011 was supported by strong figures in Switzerland, the UK, Turkey and the Asia region in particular. This was offset by the negative impact of difficult economic conditions in the Mediterranean region, operational challenges in the Netherlands and the start-up of large national and international IFS contracts.
ISS ended the year with 534,519 employees globally - half of them in emerging markets - and added 12,000 new jobs around the world during the year.
