SC Johnson Professional – the oldest new kid in town

SC Johnson Professional is exhibiting under its new identity for the first time at this year's Interclean.

Yet the Johnson family company has been around for 130 years. It has seen many changes - but its current metamorphosis marks the start of a particularly exhilarating era says group marketing director Paul Blount.

"It is a massively exciting time for the company," he said. "We are in a great stage of evolution and this is the first time we have appeared under the SC Johnson Professional umbrella.

"We are at Interclean to make distributors aware of what we are doing - we haven't announced it to them yet."

Following its acquisition of Deb in 2015 the company has moved strongly into the skincare market. Meanwhile it has also launched new surface and floor care products in the US. "These will be coming to the European market soon," said Blount. "The US model provides a glimpse of how we will look in the future.

"Floor care is a core business area for us and what differentiates us is the fact that we have carried out a huge amount of work on reducing the time that the floor maintenance process takes. The aim is to simplify the process and make the user's life easier by using unique formulations and enhanced efficiencies to speed up cleaning."

The company, which describes itself as a total solutions provider for professional and industrial users, plans further growth in the coming years.

"We will be looking to enter new markets but will continue to respect our existing brands," said Blount.
