Japanese airport employee praised for cleaning travellers’ luggage

Footage of a Japanese airport employee wiping down travellers' luggage as their cases are loaded on to the baggage carousel have appeared on social media.

The unnamed female member of staff can be seen checking the bags as they come off the plane and then wiping them down with a damp cloth to clean off any marks.

The video was uploaded on to YouTube and is also featured on Facebook where it provides a stark contrast to footage of other recent baggage-handling incidents.

AirAsia recently received negative attention after a video of staff carelessly pulling a bicycle from the ramp of a cargo hold - and subsequently breaking it - went viral.

AirAsia ceo Riad Asmat reacted by apologising for the incident and promising to waive all fees for transporting bicycles during April 2018.

And last year, Easyjet baggage-handlers at Luton Airport were slammed for hurling luggage from an aeroplane on to a waiting truck as if they were rubbish bags. Again, the clip was circulated widely on social media.

It is unclear where the Japanese footage was taken or from which airport the bags had arrived. But the video has attracted many positive comments from people who have remarked on the fact that the employee goes above and beyond her remit.
