ISSA/INTERCLEAN to host seminar programme |
The organisers of ISSA/INTERCLEAN, which takes place in Amsterdam from April 26-29, have announced details of the seminar programme taking place around the exhibition.
All sessions will be held in English, except for the Dutch national seminar on April 27, which will be held in Dutch with simultaneous translation in English.
A registration fee of €100 excluding VAT for non-ISSA members and €50 excluding VAT for ISSA members will be charged to attend all the seminars. The Dutch national seminar organised by ISSA, Amsterdam RAI and the Dutch national cleaning associations OSB, NVZ, VSR and SVS will be free for all registered attendees.
Monday April 26
10.00 – 12.00 What is driving sustainability in our industry? What does it mean for the cleaning industry and how does the approach differ from continent to continent? Contributions from speakers from the Americas, African continent, Europe and Australasia.
12.00 – 14.00 Innovation Awards Ceremony and Networking Lunch The jury of the 2010 ISSA INTERCLEAN® Innovation Awards jury will announce the winners of the innovation awards in the three categories and the overall winner of this prestigious award. A networking luncheon will follow for all exhibitors, visitors, nominees and jury members.
15.00 – 17.00 What constitutes clean? A discussion and overview of worldwide quality measuring systems and acceptable norms for determining cleanliness.
Tuesday April 27
9.00- 10.30 Forum Discussion - The sustainability business has an impact on how products are made and on supply chain management. The industry’s response will be addressed by a panel of representatives from each major product category: chemicals, paper, equipment, supplies and tools.
11.00 – 13.00 National Seminar: Smart Cleaning. New management techniques for efficient cleaning and programming cleaning in areas where it is necessary and avoiding those areas where it is not necessary.
14.00 – 16.00 Forum Discussion for leading contractors and facility managers- Is the power of the cleaning industry shifting into the hands of the occupants? A clean environment is essential for reducing work absenteeism and the health of the occupant . Contract cleaners, association experts and building occupants from all over the world will discuss their views about whether the power of the industry is shifting to the occupant.
Wednesday April 28
9.00 – 10. 30 Forum Discussion manufacturer – distributor/end user. In times of economic uncertainty where do your loyalties lie? This forum will address the changes in the relationship between manufacturer, distributor and end user during periods of economic uncertainty. The added value of the distributors services will be featured and price/quality margin issues discussed. Driving prices down to unacceptable levels adversely affects the quality of the services provided .
11.00 – 12.30. Regulations and Standards. An overview of the Globally Harmonized System (GHS), REACH, WEEE and other important international regulations and standards.
14.00 – 16.00 The best weapon against healthcare problems is hygiene. An overview of how the cleaning industry dealt with the swine flu pandemic. This topic will also address the industry’s contribution to hygiene in food and health care and the challenges that arise in dealing with a population that is getting older and older.
Thursday, April 29
10.30- 12.30 Training and Certification Programmes in Central and Eastern Europe and Russia. Cleaning association representatives from Poland, Bulgaria, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Russia will explain in detail existing and future programmes in their respective countries.
