MPs and peers were caught short - after the Houses of Parliament in London almost ran out of toilet paper.
Rumours spread there was hardly any loo rolls left for more than 13,300 Parliamentary pass-holders. Insiders blamed KGB Cleaning Supplies, the company contracted to keep Westminster stocked.
One said: "Cleaners have been complaining about a shortage of loo roll for days. It's all come to a head today. There are loads of toilets without a scrap of paper."
Staff at KGB Cleaning's Westminster office confirmed there had been problems. One worker said: "There has been an issue with supplies. But it will be sorted out as soon as possible."
An emergency order was rushed in to restock the toilets.
