The latest in new product launches from the cleaning sector. All-electric sweeper
The Green Machines 500ze is an all-electric vacuum street sweeper developed by Tennant. With its Lithium-ion powered battery pack, this new machine heralds a significant step in the drive for reduced carbon emissions and improved air quality, the company claims. Its clean air and near silent operation is suitable for enclosed or crowded pedestrian areas such as city centres.
The 500ze boasts zero emissions - saving the equivalent of 40 cars' carbon output every year - and is designed to be almost invisible to pedestrians. It is virtually silent in transit, says Tennant, so it can be used to clean at any time of day and near sound-sensitive environments. Power is supplied by Lithium-ion batteries, with integrated Battery Management System to optimise cell performance. This energy supply is said to be as reliable as conventional fuel and recharging the batteries provides eight-hour operation at a fraction of diesel costs.
The Cloudmaker misting system provides improved dust control while minimising water consumption - Tennant claims the 500ze uses 70 per cent less water than other traditional dust control techniques.
Speeds of up to 25 km per hour can be achieved and the ergonomic design means the operator enjoys a car-quality experience.
The Green Machines 500ze is currently in trials across Europe.

Control strategies
Designed for use by healthcare professionals as part of their infection control strategies, Suprox is a new line of disinfectant and sterilising products from Medipure.
The range encompasses liquids, hand washes and wipes and is produced by passing an electric current through brine. The manufacturer claims it is 100 per cent biocidal, fungicidal and sporicidal but contains none of the sometimes harmful chemicals or alcohols found in other products.
Suprox is a powerful disinfectant and sterilisation solution that is safe to drink if accidentally swallowed. And because it contains no alcohol, there is no restriction on where dispensers are located.

Sustainable drying
According to Vendor, its new IQ Towel Cabinet offers sustainability in hand drying. There is a choice of three models, one of which is called the Automatic. This uses a mechanism that automatically provides the next user with a clean paper towel - without having to touch it.
The fact the cabinet is made from tough ABS plastic makes it suitable for a second life after refurbishing, says Vendor, plus it uses a long life battery which is rechargeable.
The two- and four-play paper towel cassettes have a Nordic Swan label.

Waterless polishing
New from East Chem is Vision granite polishing cream, which the company says can be used without water to achieve a high gloss in under three minutes per square metre.
Every time polishing takes place, says East Chem, the floor surface hardens and the cream's micro filler will level an uneven surface by filling in the small voids found in natural stone. The product is said to require minimal training and the cream is heat-infused for deep gloss and hardening.
The Singapore-based company is interested in finding new distributors everywhere.
